Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. A professional conversation that empowers the client to explore their ideas and thinking in a safe and challenging space.
In a world where we face increasing complexity and challenge, a good coach can literally help us live a better life. Working with a coach can help you explore any number of areas in your life. No matter what these are, dedicating time and effort to personal development brings about a sense of achievement, clarity and wellbeing.
Using a professional coaching approach, we will create a safe supportive space to focus entirely on you & your situation. Through a series of conversations I will facilitate a process of enquiry by listening, challenging, sharing observations & facilitating your personal growth. We will improve clarity of the situation you are seeking support for and empower you with the tools you need to move forward with confidence. Solutions will be authentic to you as an individual, leveraging your strengths and managing your personal blockers to ensure your growth is sustainable and long lasting.
Coaching is not counselling or therapy
These two areas usually start from a perspective where something needs fixing. With Coaching the bias is towards working with someone who is healthy and strong enough to deal with the challenges of coaching.
Coaching is not mentoring
A mentor is someone who will guide you through a learning process. This person would normally be skilled and experienced and will offer you their skills and knowledge in this area. In effect they will be showing you what to do.
Coaching is not giving advice
A coach may offer suggestions and may discuss these with you but essentially a coach facilitates and emboldens your own thought process.
